Making Ceramic Garden Signs
With the growing season upon us, I’m making ceramic garden signs for my mom and myself. I was starting on this project in early spring, but a gall bladder surgery nearly killed me with sepsis from a bile leak that caused a life-threatening infection and sepsis. It took me nearly 4 months to recover and regain my strength to be able to go to work and do my hobbies. I was in the hospital for nearly 3 months, with one month in the ICU. It really put me behind on my ceramic gift plan for the holidays.
I’m using a plain white b-mix clay rolled out about 3/8ths thick. I use a ruler to make strips about 1.25 x 8 inches and round the tops and cut the bottom ends pointed. I’m using a cute little farm themes stamping set and lettering set to stamp out the plant names and some decorative bits. I’ll update this post once I’ve made more and they are ready for glazing.
