Bias Defense Checklist
Quick Mental Armor for a Noisy World
Before you react, repost, rage, or rally, run the signal through this firewall:
1. Emotional Trigger Check
- ❏ Am I feeling first and thinking second?
(If yes, pause.)
2. Confirmation Trap Check
- ❏ Is this just telling me what I already want to believe?
3. Source Trustworthiness Check
- ❏ Would I trust this message if it came from my “enemy”?
4. Demonization Filter
- ❏ Is this painting “them” as evil, stupid, or less human without serious proof?
5. Repetition Red Flag
- ❏ Am I seeing/hearing the same frames, same buzzwords, over and over?
6. First Anchor Awareness
- ❏ Is this the first take I’ve heard? Am I still locked onto it even after new information?
7. Tribal Loyalty Alarm
- ❏ Am I defending this because it’s true… or because it’s ours?
Rules of Engagement
- If you check 3 or more boxes: Assume manipulation is happening.
- If you check 5 or more: Drop the story and walk away.
Control your signal. Control yourself.
